Deformed Facial Features 2020

This project was the first series of my distortion adventure into human form. I began with just facial features and not the human body. I did this to put more detail and emphasis on each part and as each art piece is separate it allows me to construct faces and distorted creations on a wall in a collage fashion.

Some pieces are on canvas and others on cardboard. The brown cardboard was used as the colour of it acted as the base skin tone for most of my facial features. Each piece was also made in a different media to extend the difference in each artwork. I used oil paint, pencil crayon, acrylic paint and watercolours.

This series includes all four of the senses on the face, sight, smell, hearing and taste. The sense of touch wasn't included as I focused this series on the human face. This project inspired me to explore the human body and its other features; shown in my Distortion Project.
