This movement project I did in 2017 was an investigation into how one can show movement into still images. I researched a photographer called Eadweard Muybridge who was known for his important work in the study of motion. This gave me the inspiration to evolve some of my paintings in the same way. I used the influence from my last project on Flesh to use a heart pumping and an eye blinking. I studied drawing and painting techniques and finally decided to use several media for my final piece, which involved subtle changes in each image so that when the eye flutters over all the images in one sweep, it looks as if the images are moving. The addition of some illusion work added some texture to the center of the final piece.
